I’ve been studying design by myself ever since I first fell in love with it. I saw a lot of pretty posters and graphics online so I Googled some tutorials on how to achieve those effects. Despite these tutorials, I learned what I really needed to know about design from Arriane.
Design is not just about making things look pretty. It’s about communicating a message. It’s about immersing the audience into a whole new experience.
Take Roland Reiner Tiangco’s work for example. This, to me, is exactly what design is. From the moment you take the poster out of the box to rubbing it with dirt, you are immersed in the artist’s desire to let you experience the message he wants to communicate. And I think it’s just beautiful how he managed to develop this idea.
